Mozart in The Jungle on Amazon

I’m so in love with this show and devastated it’s been cancelled so maybe I’ll just have to watch seasons one to four all over again. Bingeing on the sex, drugs, love, ambition, ego and classical music of Mozart in the Jungle.

Mozart in the Jungle, created by Alex Timbers, Roman Coppola and Jason Schwartzman. Starring Gael García Bernal, Lola Kirke, Saffron Burrows, Bernadette Peters and Malcolm McDowell.

Inspired by the book “Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs, and Classical Music” by oboist Blair Tindall and produced by Picrow for Amazon Studios.

A playlist suitable both on and off the Roller Rink, just like these Veja X Flaneurz Roller Skate Sneakers which pop off their wheels when you’ve completed that last lap and it’s time to go home.

In The Mix: Go Paint Something

When I was in Art School I was friends with a girl who would change the colour of her hair almost every month, from fire truck red, to electric blue to a shade that can only be described as resembling the most-perfect pink Persian fairy floss. With the change in hair colour also came a change in make-up, my most favourite being the day she walked into class looking like someone had painted multi-coloured stripes over her eyes with a paint brush.

Word Up: Starman

Lyrics by David Bowie

There’s a starman waiting in the sky
He’d like to come and meet us
But he thinks he’d blow our minds
There’s a starman waiting in the sky
He’s told us not to blow it
Cause he knows it’s all worthwhile

Band Practice

Band Practice

She is counting down the minutes, watching the clock, longing for the bell to ring and signal the end of another school day. The hour where schoolbooks are left in the locker, a guitar is placed firmly in her hands and band practice begins. She had recently joined an all girl rock band and while the other girls were busy cultivating their image, borrowing from Bowie, Blondie and Suzie Q she already had hers. All she needed… read more
